US president after fear mongering against Iran

TEHRAN, Nov. 26 (MNA) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said “the US president makes new accusations against Iran every day in order to raise fears among foreign governments and persuade them to break off relations with Iran.”

In a meeting with the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iran headed by Janusz Lewandowski on Sunday, Ali Larijani the Iranian Parliament Speaker said “the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to JCPOA and we shouldn’t let baseless accusations made by the US and its allies in the region disrupt its implementation.”

Underlining the necessity of bringing peace and stability to the region, he said “we have made great efforts to fight terrorism, but international determination is required for the complete annihilation of terrorist groups. Unfortunately, however, some countries support such groups and provide them with weapons while they issue statements against terrorism.”

He stressed the necessity of fighting drug trafficking and added “Iran fights drug trafficking with all its available means. But in order to stop drug trafficking, all the countries should work together.”

He referred to the commercial relations with the European Union and named oil, gas and Petro-chemistry, clean energies, railway, mines and the environment as some of the areas for investment by the European Union.

For his part, the Chairman of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iran Janusz Lewandowski said “European Union is committed to the provisions of JCPOA.”

Offering his condolences on the recent disastrous earthquake that struck some Iranian cities, Lewandowski said “all the countries of the European Union support the Islamic Republic of Iran in the nuclear agreements.”

“Maintaining stability in the region is of utmost importance to us and Iran plays a vital role here, since it has made considerable efforts in fighting ISIL,” he added.

The Chairman of the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Iran said “European Union is interested in expanding business relations with Iran.”

Referring to the dangers of the increase in drug trafficking around the world, Lewandowski said “an important problem is drug trafficking which revolves around Afghanistan mostly. Iran and the European Union can engage in close cooperation in fighting drug trafficking and other crimes.”

Lewandowski concluded by expressing hope that Iran and the European Union can expand their relations more than ever.
